[cliccare il link per andare direttamente al raccolto della edizione italiana di WHB]
As the host of last week's edition of WHB, I am pleased to present an interesting set of posts submitted by bloggers from various countries. For each contribution, I will give you the official information (author, blog name and post title) and a short quote or brief description that summarizes it, a teaser that invites you to follow the link to read the relevant post. Follow me: it will be an interesting tour.
Terry of Crumpets & Co. starts us off with Pasta with Broad Beans and Bacon
This is a delicious pasta inspired by an Umbrian dish called “scafata.” I preferred to use this fava bean stew with pancetta cubes as a pasta sauce… and it really made a delicious meal!
Cleare of Il pomodorosso partecipates to WHB for the first time (welcome!) with her Healthy Summer Salad — "A salad that will make your day. It’s amazingly simple, you can have it done in less then 10 minutes and it’s absolutely delicious."
Janet of The Taste Space prepared Garlic-Roasted Chickpeas in a Creamy Lemon-Dill Dressing
"Have an abundance of dill? Or just a lover of dill? Definitely try these garlic-roasted chickpeas with a creamy lemon-dill dressing."
Ivy of Kopiaste first tells us about scented geraniums (Pelargonium graveolens)
"This plant... is not prized for its flowers but for its fragrant foliage." Ivy explains how to use this fragrant foliage to flavor sugar, tea and more.
Then she tells us about Marbled Cake she made using scented geraniums:
"In my recipe for this cake I used some sugar I flavoured with scented geranium leaves. I also added some scented geranium leaves to line the bundt cake mold."
Johanna of Green Gourmet Giraffe shares her Apple, Almond and Mincemeat Crumble
"It was just the way that I fancied using some mince... loved how it made the apple taste special with all the spices, fruit and nuts that are in my fruit mince."
Cathy of Delaware Girl Eats prepared Campanelli with Tomatoes, Spring Onions and Basil
Basil, tomatoes and onions from the garden and "the light summer pasta that resulted from the marriage of these flavors."
tigerfish of teczcape - an escape to food presents Garlic Long (Green) Beans with Sesame Seeds
"Wok-Fry Four-Seasons Beans... may look simple but there are key steps to getting that "wrinkled" crunchy look on the beans in this dish."
Cinzia of Cindystar made Veggie Centerpiece for which
"You then need scissors, a boxcutter, toothpicks of different sizes, green florist wire, florist sponge... Feel free to choose any vegetables at your own fantasy and following your favorite color tones."
Haalo of Cook (almost) Anything at Least Once made Pistachio Honey Biscotti
"With the colder weather well and truly upon us, the need for warming beverages is a priority. Naturally, a little something sweet to accompany doesn't go astray."
Susan of The Well-Seasoned Cook presents Mixed Berry Angel Food Summer Pudding
"Although soggy bread has never appealed to me much... I can highly vouch for tender, buoyant slices of angel food cake sopping up a three-berry compote with its bright magenta syrup."
Simona of briciole (your host for this week) made Kale Blossom Frittata
"Simona's kitchen wisdom: When in doubt, make a frittata."
A heartfelt Thank you! to all who contributed to the event. Elena of Lo Zibaldone Culinario is currently accepting submissions for this week's edition of Weekend Herb Blogging. You can always look ahead to who's hosting on this page. And if you are new to the event or need a reminder, the rules for participating are detailed on this page.
A final thank you to Haalo of Cook (almost) Anything at Least Once, who has been organizing for over three and a half years the event started by Kalyn of Kalyn's Kitchen. It gives me special pleasure to be part of an established tradition that links so many food bloggers around the world.
